1940s White Lacquered Hollywood Regency Dining Chairs - Set of 6
1940s White Lacquered Hollywood Regency Dining Chairs - Set of 6
Very glamorous, very vintage dining chairs from the Hollywood Regency era. Probably 1950's. They've been lacquered in a semigloss white (matched with SW 2006) and reupholstered in a spectacular sapphire blue crushed velvet. We used a Designers Guild cut velvet called Mattiazzo in Cobalt in the picture frame outside backs for drama. Each back is a different part of the fabric.
Reminiscent of the designs of Dorothy Draper, these chairs have a stylized greek and roman influence. Note the front legs have a columnar shape to them. The arms have the regency swoop, terminating in another swoop to meet the seat. The upper backs roll with a slight swirl pattern on the sides, more noticeable in some than in others.
The seats have new firm foam on newly webbed frames, which drop in. The backs are padded with new foam and are very comfortable.
Measure 19” wide, 20” deep, and 36” tall. 19” seat height.
